2019-2022

About

B!RTH is a unique collaboration between science and theatre. Using a series of provocative plays and dynamic panel discussions, B!RTH aims to raise awareness, change policy and provoke debate around the vast inequality in maternal and newborn health across the world.

The Plays

The B!RTH plays have been developed to stimulate discussion and debate on a global scale; questioning one of the key issues of our time: the vast inequality in maternal health care across the world.

The Debates

During the inaugural BIRTH festival in Manchester 2016, a series of debates was held, based on the topics explored in the plays. Filmed recordings of the debates can be viewed here.
